Stop Ugliness!
Save Alabama the Beautiful
Sugar-white beaches lace Alabama's coastline; deep hardwood forests dominate the Appalachian Foothills.  From Mobile to Mentone, the landscape of Alabama is one of stark contrasts and diverse biology.  These unique ecosystems are being contaminated with an explosion of ugliness due to Alabama's failure to develop a strategic plan for growth and a constitution that prevents home rule.  Uncoordinated development is destroying neighborhoods, consuming valuable farmland, and changing lives.

Alabama's citizens want economic growth and functional, user-friendly development without sacrificing our special places or our quality of life.  Alabama can grow a diverse economy without destroying its scenic environment by adopting a comprehensive plan to mitigate the effects of urban sprawl.  Growth is inevitable.  The quality of that growth is not inevitable and must be addressed proactively to preserve Alabama the Beautiful.

These critical growth problems can only be solved through education, organization, and planning.  Follow the links below to increase your scenic awareness and get involved.  Growth is necessary and inevitable, but ugliness is not.

Sprawl is anti-farm, anti-family, anti-business, and anti-environment, so why does Alabama embrace it?
