Top Ten Ways YOU Can Help Alabama's Scenic Environment


1.  Contact our elected officials and tell them appearance matters!
2.  Vote for cleanliness.  Patronize businesses with clean premises and attractive                   signage and landscaping.
3.  Take a walk and pick up after litterbugs.
4.  Plant a tree.
5.  Remove an eyesore for someone who isn't able to.
6.  Join a local Scenic Conservation Group.
7.  Teach your children to be Scenic Guardians.
8.  Adopt a blighted area and clean it up.
9.  Plant some wildflowers.

10.  Report eyesores!
11. Support Constitutional Reform and Home Rule!



These are just a few of the things you can do to improve Alabama's scenic environment.  Unfortunately, if you are one of the many Alabamians that live in unzoned rural areas, your local government has very  little authority to protect the areas surrounding your property from the proliferation of eyesores, particularly more and more billboards (we have almost 6000 billboards already). 

This is what home rule is all about.  Contact your representatives and tell them  Alabama's cities and counties should have the power to deal with their own unique problems.  Local issues demand local attention!!
